Our founder, C.G. Johnson, created the original upward-acting garage door in 1921 and the first electric garage door opener in 1926. Since then, Overhead Door Corporation remains an innovator, strengthening Johnson’s legacy in the development of trusted and groundbreaking products.
We are a team of over 4000 employees; 16 manufacturing facilities; and 78 regional sales, service, and installation centers. As a leading manufacturer of doors and openers for residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation applications—we strive to pioneer access solutions and services that exceed the ever-changing needs of our customers.
Overhead Door Corporation has three operating divisions which encompass our seven brands. Our largest division, the Access Systems Division (ASD) includes the Overhead Door, Wayne Dalton and TODCO brands, plus our 2 service brands, Creative Door Services in Western Canada and NationServe in the US. We round out our divisions with The Genie Company, manufacturer of overhead door operators, and Horton Automatics, which manufactures, sells and services pedestrian access systems.
